Game Development Experience

2005-2009

Worked as a member of Team Dystopia on the Half-Life 2 modification Dystopia.
I started as a level designer. For this role my responisbilities were designing, producing a map in time for weekly test session with a group of regular testers, attending said test session and compiling a list of feedback and implementing any appropriate changes based on that feedback (on my own discretion).
I developed modelling and texturing skills in order to speed up the process of realising the visuals I wanted to portray in my level creation work. I needed to set my own goals for this and work independently.
As my time with the team progressed I was promoted to the position of Art Lead. Art Lead responsibilities included coordinating existing artists in the team, interviewing prospective team members with other managers and communicating the needs of other departments to the art team and vice versa.
As a Manager I was responsible for making high level strategic decisions for the direction the studio would take in the future.

Education

I have recently completed (April 2010) the final year of my degree in Computer Games Design (BSc Hons) at Staffordshire University and thus my graduation is pending.

I participated in Staffordshire Univerity's GradEx 2010 on the 30th of April, 2010 where I won third place in the Games Modelling and Animation category.

Bio

I'm a 25 year old technical artist living in the West Midlands. I enjoy working with games engines and exploring their limits. I get a lot of satisfaction from learning how an engine works and putting something together with it. I always try to find the best way to do something. I spend a lot of my spare time tinkering with games and creating my own content for them.

In my spare time I enjoy music, spur of the moment walks and cooking.
